About the Movie
A pair of astronauts heads to Jupiter to investigate a radio signal sent from a mysterious monolith on the moon, but their tranquil trip is endangered when their on-board computer begins acting oddly. The simple plot of director Stanley Kubrick's inspired space adventure (co-scripted with noted science fiction author Arthur C. Clarke) belies the profound philosophical implications of this classic film, which inspires viewers to ask questions about the nature of advanced civilizations . . . and of human consciousness. Nearly half a century after its release, the film's groundbreaking special effects are still breathtaking, and its ending still mind-bending.
one word BORRING
this would have to have been one of the most borring movies of all time
This has to be one of, if not THE most influencial and powerful film ever made. If good movies are not your thing, like the other reviwer, don't bother watching it. This film is the father of science fiction, simply dismissing it as "boring" is completely unfair. Don't listen to the reviewer that spelt "boring" with 2 'r's, it's a reflection on his intellegence.
2001 best film
2001 is one of the most influential movies of all time. Decades ahead of its time, for both storyline and technical film making effects, I love the movie. The music is used masterfully. Classic music has not had so much meaning than in this movie. A must watch for anyone interested in movie making, sic fi, and special effects. Remember it was made decades ago and still looks outstanding.
