New York hedge-fund magnate Robert Miller (Gere) is the portrait of success. But behind the gilded walls of his mansion, Miller is in over his head, desperately trying to complete the sale of his trading empire before the depths of his fraud are revealed. Struggling to conceal his duplicity from wife (Sarandon) and daughter (Marling), Miller's also balancing an affair with French art-dealer Julie (Laetitia Casta). Just as he's about to unload his troubled empire, an unexpected error forces him to juggle family, business, and crime with the aid of Jimmy (Parker), a face from Miller's past. One wrong turn ignites the suspicions of NYPD Detective Bryer (Roth), who will stop at nothing in his pursuits. Running on borrowed time, Miller is forced to confront the limits of even his own moral duplicity.
Richard Gere's best performance 4/5 B+
This movie was great, suspenceful and great script make it worth the watch plus Richard Gere gives the ebst performance of his career. The film has a great plot, suspence and a well oiled story. The great surporting cast as well give great performances. The screenplay and script are also well written and make it an enjoyable 107 minutes. A great story and a great performance by Richard Gere make this one to remember. 4/5 B+
This movie didn't get the promotion or hype it deserved. A solid and socially relevant movie. I never really rated Richard Gere but his performance here is great, and the supporting cast including Susan Sarandon is great. If you liked Wall Street you will like this movie more. Worth buying or at least renting.
That is all :o)
