About the Movie

Telling harsh truths about the modern music business, this riveting and award-winning documentary gives intimate access to singer/actor Jared Leto (“Requiem for a Dream,” “Dallas Buyers Club”) and his band Thirty Seconds to Mars as they fight a relentless lawsuit with record label Virgin/EMI and write songs for their album “This Is War.” Opening up his life for the camera during months of excruciating pressures, Leto reveals the struggles his band must face over questions of art, money and integrity. I highly recommend everybody watch Artifact. It shines a light on what actually happens in the music industry and hopefully encourages the music lover to do the right thing by the artist because the music labels obviously aren't

I think that everyone who loves + listens to music needs to see ARTIFACT. It is such an eye opening film + after seeing it, I have a much better understanding of how the industry works + how so many artists get screwed over by their record labels.
