About the Movie

From the creators of Bad Santa, Jim Carrey stars in the “outrageously funny” (Rolling Stone) true story of a spectacularly charismatic conman’s journey from small-town businessman to flamboyant white-collar criminal, who repeatedly finds himself in trouble with the law and on the lam – all in the name of love. Happily married and a member of the local police force Steven Russell (Carrey) is prompted to make dramatic reassessment of his life after a car accident. Realising he is gay Steven decides to live his life to the fullest – but being gay proves to be expensive. Finding himself on the wrong side of the law and in jail Steven meets the sensitive and softly spoken Phillip Morris (Ewan McGregor). His devotion to freeing Phillip and building the perfect life together leads Steven to attempt and often succeed at one impossible con after another. I Love You Phillip Morris is an unbelievably true comedy that’s being called “the best performance of Carrey’s career” (Village Voice).

Customer Reviews

Great.

The acting is good, so is the plot and script, with witty and sometimes surprising remarks.
Is a tad boring but draws you back in with more.

One warning- DO NOT WATCH WITH PARENTS. Gets awkward.

I dont really like Jim Carey much but his role in this movie was outstanding.A great story and quite touching as well as funny.A must see.Ewan Mcgregor was brilliant too.

Who couldn't love Phillip Morris?

There is not a thing I didn't love about this movie. It is not at all what I expected, especially from a Jim Carrey movie. The acting is superb and the story is touching, funny, and clever. Believe me when I say this is not a movie you want to look over.
