This is by far one of the best Australian films of all time. It is intense, crazily intimidating, brooding and as realistic as everyday life. The casting is spot on and the direction is nothing short of masterful. This movie will haunt me forever. Highly recommended!
but also one of the best Australian movies I've ever seen. (most) of the violence is just implied, but the soundtrack and camerawork add a really creepy atmosphere. A lot of the emphasis is on what depressing circumstances these people find themselves in the first place.
this is why Australian movies are overlooked. In the first 50 min it goes at way too slow of a pace. The first moment of suspence comes too late and fails to do what it should which is scare. It's not a complete fail but I wouldn't see it again.
