Do not watch!

This was a terrible film!
The storyline was weak & is not one of Clooney's best.

Change of pace for George

This film harkens back to the Film Noir of the 50's and 60's, and so is paced accordingly....not the usual "shoot 'em up", but more of a brooding build-up. So it's more of a character driven film than a plot driven one. I liked the change of pace, for it's not the typical George Clooney film brimming with slick one-liners, and he plays an even more reserved part than he did in Syriana.

Not Clooney's best, but still not bad.

You'll guess the ending by the end of the first act. But not too bad otherwise: there's a sense of moral bleakness and loneliness in the lead character that Clooney brings out well: he's just about emotionally bankrupt as you can get, and I liked that about the movie. It had a kind of cinematic Edward Hopper feel. However, like a lot of this genre, the writers fall victim to the cliche of the black widow type assassin, so to speak. So a weak-ish script that Clooney's presence adds value to. I agree not his best, but I still enjoyed it.
