About the Movie
Chronicling the adventures of an eccentric, resilient and tight-knit family, The Glass Castle is a remarkable story of unconditional love. Brie Larson brings Jeannette Walls’s best-selling memoir to life as a young woman who, influenced by the joyfully wild nature of her deeply dysfunctional father found the fiery determination to carve out a successful life on her own terms.
Book was great. Movie was average - missed some fantastic bits of the book and concentrated more on the Dads alcoholic issues.
Good not great.
The acting is top notch, the directing is good but the script is lacking. It was also probably twenty minutes or so to long.
It has a sameness feel to it as most dysfunctional family movies coming out of Hollywood tend to have these days.
Overall if you’re a fan of any one of the lead actors it’s worth a watch at least once because each one of them bring their a game as they usually do.
