About the Movie

TIM WINTON'S THE TURNING is a unique cinema event. Seventeen talented Australian directors from diverse artistic disciplines each create a chapter of the hauntingly beautiful novel by multi award-winning author Tim Winton. The linking and overlapping stories explore the extraordinary turning points in ordinary people's lives in a stunning portrait of a small coastal community. As characters face second thoughts and regret, relationships irretrievably alter, resolves are made or broken, and lives change direction forever. This watershed film reinterprets and re-imagines the work for the screen.

Worst movie!

I have read the book and I thought it was incredible, and I found out there was going to be a movie with all these directors; i thought wow, what an interest idea. Well, turns out this concept actually turned out to be a train wreck in ‘The Turning’. The whole movie is not connect in no way at all, the movie has no true plot, just short random short stories with no real meaning at all in the grand scheme of it all. If I did not read the book I would have no idea what was happening, and even then it was confusing.

great cinematic concepts

There are 17 different directors who all try to tell the one story, when watching this movie you have to think of the different directors part as it's own story, not linked in together. There are some amazingly talented actors and directors that have put this film in my top 5. Very worth while, a great movie overall

Can't wait!

Looks like it's going to be very well done!
