Though The Triffids split up in 1989 and frontman David McComb died a decade later, a reissue series in the ‘00s reinvigorated the Perth post-punk ensemble's reputation. But for all the attention rightly lavished on 1986's classic Born Sandy Devotional, the group's languid, pastoral sweep soaks just as deeply through their less-familiar records, and their earlier material hums with unpolished charm.
