Dan Carlin's Hardcore History

In "Hardcore History" journalist and broadcaster Dan Carlin takes his "Martian", unorthodox way of thinking and applies it to the past. Was Alexander the Great as bad a person as Adolf Hitler? What would Apaches with modern weapons be like? Will our modern civilization ever fall like civilizations from past eras? This isn't academic history (and Carlin isn't a historian) but the podcast's unique blend of high drama, masterful narration and Twilight Zone-style twists has entertained millions of listeners.

This show has turned me into the history buff that I did not know I was. I know find myself hanging out for every download. I hope one day Dan looks into some Australian Hististory.

Best podcast of its kind !!!

I just love Dan's Hardcore History podcast. I devoured almost all the episodes over a week and I think it is simply the best podcast of its kind on the web ! I also love the soundscape/soundtrack that go with the podcasts as it just adds to the overall experience and I'm also learning a lot too. Keep up the good work !

Dan, My Man... You're an absolute godsend!!!

Now i love history, but I must confess that I'd recently sort of lost interest in reading pages and pages of notes and books to find the really juicy parts of history that used to captivate me all the way through school. Enter Dan Carlin, and problem solved. I had never heard of his other program (Common Sense), but i thankfully found Hardcore History through ITunes, and I loved it from the very start. Dan's unique delivery, mixed in with his quirkiness and obvious passion for what he is talking about, make you feel like you are part of the unravelling of all the great events and mysteries that have happened since the beginning of time. You, like me will wait in eager anticipation for every episode... i even bought the first ten from his website, and I'm a big fan of getting the free stuff, so that shows how much i love this podcast. You will too!!! 10/10 (or 5 stars, whichever you prefer)...Thanks Dan
