Must listen to

The Creation story makes more sense now. Wish someone had told me all this stuff earlier.

Kids ministry and Jonah and the whale

Tim makes some excellent points about the way we teach the bible to kids often resulting in a series of moral lessons. This is so true and so far from what the bible is usually communicating. Thinking through how we prepare kids to be life long learners of Jesus and and the bible is something we need to think carefully about and I'd love to hear Tim's thoughts on this.

NEW FAVOURITE! - full of scripture, history and Tim laughing at his own jokes

I've been an avid listener of podcasts for years now but this is easily my favourite podcast for more historical context of scripture.

Pastor Tim - like a true academic, I'd say - looks at things well roundedly. Some of the things he discusses can be very challenging but he provides quotations, scripture and other references to encourage to verify it for yourself which I think is a mark of a good teacher. He also answers questions within myself that I did not realise I had. Sometimes I wish I could see his lecture slides :(

I think people who like history, languages, a more teaching sermon style and are willing to get challenged by EVERY episode (I kid you not) would love this. :)
