I wish it did what it promises

This podcast promises to explore the way how Big Data and Analytics transform our world. It would be gorgeous if it did that. The titles of the episodes are also always very promising. Unfortunately, the podcasts only consist of interviews and talks with 'experts in the field'. The experts are consultants or executives, and their ability to tell a good story varies. There is no moderator who frames and comments the contributions, and the sound quality is very mixed. Many of the interviews are obviously conducted over the phone and not or not very well postprocessed.

Contrary to the title, this podcast does not analyse anything in depth. It does not tell us how individual technologies actually work, where they are applied, what exactly they are, what the implications for society might be. The discussion often stays very general, e.g. talking about how useful cognitive technologies are for financial advisors, without telling exactly what those technologies are, where they are used, who uses them and how, and what exact advantage or value they
provide.

I believe this is mostly a sales instrument for IBM, and the target audience are managers and executives and consultants, rather than the general interested public. I challenge one of the target audience to counter this review and give a better one, and tell us what this podcast does for them

Horrible Sound Quality That Ruins Experience

When I listened to the first podcast, the sound quality was not good. However, thinking that it would improve over time as the podcast grew was a huge disappointment. It sounds as if the show is recorded using a laptop microphone.

The talks are interesting albeit surface level. Coming from IBM who is a multinational IT company you would expect higher quality and more in-depth analysis of data techniques and applications.
