Excellent nutrition for the mind

LNL is a challenging, stimulating radio show in interview format, in which Phillip Adams - witty, intelligent, and with vast understanding of the topics addressed - interviews experts from around the world about Big Ideas. His show is a joy intellectually - in a world where most issues are oversimplified by the media, Phillip takes both us and his interviewees deeply and with discipline into their topic. Issues are covered respectfully and in depth. The listener often recieves an excellent education not only in current affairs and politics -- a main focus of the program - but in history, literature, ecology, psychology, and the life stories of interesting people. A privilege to listen to, and now to carry around in your pod. (A word of explanation: Phillip refers to his listeners as "Gladies," having felt for years that there was one person only listening, a woman called Gladys. Now that he realizes there's a legion of us, collectively LNL listeners are Gladies... or now Poddies, for obvious reaons.) Enjoy.

A National Treasure & Shock Jock

A National Treasure, possibly the widest range of topics covered in a single radio show and comfy as an old pair of jeans. Citizen Adams challenges the listener to think clearly about a topic and to involve the emotions too. Opinions and depth of debate rarely found on broadcast media, except possibly Counterpoint.

What can I say?

I've been a Gladdie for years - I'm enjoying my new identity as a Poddie. Phillip Adams' little wireless program is so good that, if I wasn't such a flaky small-'l' liberal, I'd campaign to make it compulsory. Subscribe to this program (and to its dark small-'c' conservative doppleganger 'Counterpoint') to find out exactly what thoughful, in-depth current affairs is all about.
