Description

Science-based parenting. Join me as I learn through research and practice about babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and how we can form lasting and positive attachments with our children . If you have a child born since 2011, this podcast is for you. The first few episodes will focus on sleep, then I'll get into discipline, from there, I'll investigate questions that arise about my kids (born 2012 and 2014), and from my listeners.

Customer Reviews

A wonderful podcast

Nicole is a charming host who provides evidence-based, and personal advice on child rearing. Her ability to take relevant academic papers and explain and synthesise the contained information while balancing that against her experience as a parent makes for a comprehensive, realistic, and calming view of what is normal, achievable, and changeable. The informations is practical and you will never feel panicked that you are doing the wrong thing :)
Great for parents of young children.

Advice that resonates

My baby has been mega napping in the car the last few days so these podcasts have been getting a work out. They are really interesting and reassuring. The host is a mum with a psych research background. She talks about studies on sleep and also reflects on her attempts at different things eg settling. She always has take home messages at the end. It's a great voice of reason and quite analytical (which appeals to me) - there's rigour in her review of the literature but a warmth in its application.

Something valuable in every episode

In every episode I learn something really valuable about how to be the best parent for my toddler. The supportive style of information sharing, combined with an evidence-based approach, means that I can take on new ideas and apply them immediately without ever feeling judged or ashamed of my past mistakes. Please keep up the great work!
