What a Shame

Bob Garfield and Mike Vuolo were just great together, deep diving into the lexical pool with wisdom, wit and whimsy. John McWhorter just can't match his predecessors. Another reviewer here referred to John's air of self importance and that sums it up well. I love the English language and the delightful games we can play with it. Bob and Mike are like the star players but John is like the referee. Bring back Valley v1.0 please!

Bring back Bob & Mike, like urgently!

This was the world's best podcast when Bob & Mike were its custodians. Sadly, John McWhorter's self-important air and absence of interesting guests (in fact, total absence of guests) have turned this into a dull, one-star show. I'm only maintaining my subscription in the hope that Bob & Mike might one day return.

Great podcast!

If you are a podcast connoisseur you will really enjoy this. Insightful, fun and well made. Definitely check it out!
