Poor Quality

Probably one of the least professional productions that have come out of the BBC. So very disappointing. Poor quality sound, fact, there is very little to say to redeem the podcast.

Good range of history topics

This is a bit like the magazine on which it is based. The topics centre around UK history (ranging from Big Ben to Henry II to the history of swimming) and they are generally competent but not too in-depth. An easy half-hour's listening but if you are looking for academic grunt or the passion of a Dan Carlin then go elsewhere. Sound quality can vary a bit, especially with phone interviews, but is generally acceptable. I find it a fair substitute for the hard copy magazine, which is getting a little pricey here in Australia.

One of my favourite podcasts

Professionally done and both highly entertaining and educational - I would highly recommend it.
