Dark Nights to Light Days & Art for Arts Sake! with Tilde Lebouc

Welcome to Episode 01 in this new series of candid conversations with The Mojo Mecca community!

We are diving in with Tilde Lebouc – an artist, visual storyteller and devotee of all things creativity.

She has studied ceramics, fine arts videography & photography. Her practice is intuitive, process-focused and raw. She feels that the camera, the poetry & clay are all extensions of her heart and vision, and that art is a way of life.

She is also the founder of FAC (Feminine Arts Collective) – a collaborative community supporting all forms of creative self-expression and sharing art as medicine – through events, workshops and exhibitions.

In this conversation we chat about:

    - family re-connection, homecoming and returning to the nest to remember and integrate parts of our younger selves

    - the purpose of 'dark nights of the soul' and how we can relate to those times more healthily

    - dropping out of school and moving to the bush at 16

    - creation and destruction as the constant spectrum of life and nature

    - art for art's sake; letting go of the end result

    - how her name, mis-pronunciation and nicknames can fragment and alter self-perception and identity

    - a water bathing ritual of release

Golden Grief & Purposeful Plant-led Business with Zoë LvH of 'Wunder Workshop' & 'Essentials'

Golden Grief & Purposeful Plant-led Business with Zoë LvH of 'Wunder Workshop' & 'Essentials'

I am here chatting to Zoë Lind Van't Hof, a radiant golden being and entrepreneurial spirit doing incredible work in the world.

She is a plant-lover through and through. She grew up plant-based, developed her own intuitive herbalism, foraged, grew organic food and was surrounded by botanicals through her massage therapist/naturopath mother. This passion led her to organically share her wisdom through purposeful products and offerings.

She is the founder of 'Wunder Workshop' - a brand which celebrates plants, soil health, grower to consumer transparency and products with purpose. It's origin came in discovering a small-scale, family owned turmeric farm in Sri Lanka and feeling called to share the medicinal properties of this powerful root, especially when grown in a sustainable way by people who care.

She carries this same essence and intention of care into her second initiative, 'Essentials by Zoë LVH'; which, born from her late mother's journey with breast cancer, offers a botanical-infused breast care oil that reminds us to lovingly massage and get to know our breasts more intimately. In Essentials, she also offers a Grief Balm; for softening the pain, open your heart and calming your anxiety.

We speak a lot about grief, the ongoing depths of her journey with loss, and how it has also allowed her to experience more joy and appreciation for her life.

We also touch on new ways of business, growth not being linear, the importance of deep passion and intention behind all that you do, how to create daily balance and nourishment of the many areas of one's life, and surrendering to receiving help.

Merging Academia, Wild Sovereignty & Somatic Dance with Brittany Jane

Merging Academia, Wild Sovereignty & Somatic Dance with Brittany Jane

In this conversation i'm communing with Brittany Jane - a Somatic Ecologist, Dancer and Accredited 'Wayapa' Practitioner, whose work aims to merge the embodiment and ecology.

Brittany has over 15 years of experience in dance and embodiment complemented by 7 years as a sustainability educator where she delivered bachelor and post-graduate tertiary courses for hundreds of students in over 8 countries. She holds a Master of Environment in Somatic Ecology where her thesis explored the use of somatic dance in connecting and communicating with the natural world. She is currently completing her Doctorate.

Her research aimed to address the root cause of today’s overwhelming ecological challenges, that being human’s disconnection and disembodiment from nature.

She co-founded an organisation called 'Wildsong', which offers deep nature connection programs for children and adults that serve as a catalyst for connecting people to their wild self and the ecological communities they belong to. She also offers women's only re-wilding immersions named 'Sovereignty'.

    We explore:
    - The much needed fusion of the academic and somatic worlds for impact and recognition
    - The power of moving from the mind to the body, and 'bringing the body on board' so we can live whole lives rich in deeply felt experiences
    - De-coding and exploring our own ancestral lineages as a way of empowering ourselves and lessening the need to grasp at or appropriate Indigenous cultures that are not our own as a result of lack, disconnection or trauma
    - Key practices for micro-dosing somatic nature connection in your life and moving emotions through your body
    - Play as a business ally
    + so much more!
