Bedtime stories

This is like having famous authors read you bedtime stories. Less dramatic than the Selected Shorts Podcast (which has actors rather than writers as its readers), it's still lovely in its own quiet way. Deborah Treisman's interviews are lovely: thoughtful and thorough. Individual tastes vary, but the stories read by Ewidge Danticat are my favourites

My favourite podcast - bar none

The concept is simple and the execution brilliant. You come to know and admire Deborah T. For her warm and witty but always respectful and insightful approach to author author and author reader. I have listened at least twelve times to The Swimmer and multiple times to many more. The best thing is to be in the garden working methodically and slowly while listening to a podcast. Only complaint? One a month just aint enough!! Thanks New Yorker.

Do all stories have to be tragic they can bring you down

I like these stories if I am not depressed at the end - the mistakes made that ruin lives - little lives sad sorry mistakes ! Depends how miserable you want to feel or maybe well I'm not the only one!! I will listen on
