S.W.A.T works with Lieutenant Detective Piper Lynch (Amy Farrington) to hunt down a serial killer who is using drones as bombs. Hondo’s (Shemar Moore) first day as Darryl’s (Deshae Frost) legal guardian gets complicated when his father unexpectedly moves in.

The Mayor asks Lt. Lynch (Amy Farrington) to enact a departmental review of S.W.A.T. while hunting down the leader of an infamous doomsday cult. Luca (Kenny Johnson) asks the team to invest in his new passion: a Guatemalan food truck.

As Hicks (Patrick St. Esprit) faces an unexpected review of his team, S.W.A.T. goes undercover to investigate a gang’s latest counterfeit currency scheme. As Hick’s daughter asks Chris (Lina Esco) whether Street (Alex Russell) is available, Hondo (Shemar Moore) must keep the peace between his divorced parents.

A drive-by shooting that put Deacon’s (Jay Harrington) family in danger leads S.W.A.T. to investigate a Colombian rebel leader involved in the drug trade. Tan’s (David Lim) girlfriend inadvertently lands him in trouble at work, while Hondo’s (Shemar Moore) dad tries to disguise his failing health.

S.W.A.T.’s investigation into an attack on a police convoy reconnects Street (Alex Russell) with his long lost foster brother. Hondo (Shemar Moore) gets some disturbing news about his father’s health.

The Harrelsons engage in a tense family reunion when Hondo's older sister, Winnie (April Parker Jones), begrudgingly arrives in Los Angeles to see their sick father for the first time in decades. Also, the SWAT team searches for an abducted Middle Eastern human rights activist; Luca's food truck business hits a snag; and Street worries that dating Captain Hick's daughter, Molly (Laura James) , will negatively impact his career.
