Borgia: Faith & Fear

When Cardinal Rodrigo Borgia receives word that his eldest son has been killed, he draws his family close to him in Rome. Juans sexual desires create tension between the enemies, the House of Colonna and the Borgia. Lucrezia deals with the pains of growing older.

As Pope Innocents health deteriorates, Rodrigo and his allies prepare for the worst. Cesare receives a premonition that foresees five deaths that will change his life. Lucrezia meets her fiance who turns out not to be quite what she expected.

After giving a rousing eulogy at Pope Innocents funeral, Rodrigo secretly begins campaigning to be elected the next Pope. Cesare must grapple with the implications of fatherhood as his mistress gives birth to their illegitimate son.

As the process of electing a new Pope continues, it abounds with corruption and violence. Lucrezia has fever-induced hallucinations and Cesare tries to atone for his sins.
