Maya and Riley are excited to move up into year eight and to finally have a new teacher; Mrs Svorski wants Topanga to start running the bakery.

Classmates of Lucas and Riley's are beginning to get curious about the status of their relationship, which ultimately confuses them more than ever before and does nothing to help.

A new student arrives from Texas and turns out to be an old friend from Lucas' past, but the old version of Lucas isn't the person who his friends have come to know and love.

Topanga, Cory, Riley, Maya, and Shawn travel to Philadelphia to find an old time capsule that the friends buried 15 years ago. It inspires the kids to create and bury a time capsule of their own.

Cory is unsure what to do when Maya and Riley have a disagreement so severe that it could threaten their friendship; Cory decides to ask his older brother Eric if he will act as mediator between the two girls.

Riley tells a lie on Maya's behalf so that they can both go to a college party; afterwards, she can't handle the guilt she feels for lying to her parents; Maya is forced to face up to some truths about Joshua.
