In this groundbreaking three part series, six ordinary Australians agree to challenge their preconceived notions about refugees and asylum seekers by embarking on a confronting 25 day journey. Tracing in reverse the journeys that refugees have taken to reach Australia, they travel to some of the most dangerous and desperate corners of the world, with no idea what is in store for them along the way. Deprived of their wallets, phones and passports, they board a leaky refugee boat, are rescued mid ocean, experience immigration raids in Malaysia, live in Kenyan refugee camps and visit slums in Jordan before ultimately making it to the Democratic Republic of Congo and Iraq, protected by UN Peacekeepers and the US military. For some of them, it’s their first time abroad. For all of them, it’s an epic journey and the most challenging experience of their lives.

Everyone should watch this
An amazing recreation of the refugee journey. A series that is needed to even remotely attempt to redress the imbalance of reporting/stories/fear mongering and campaign of intolerance that we witness daily in the press and main stream media. This series will make people feel uncompfortable as it will challenge their current views formed through years of one sided reporting. Providing an opposing view point or in this case the reality of what Refugee's endure will make us squirm as we sit back in our warm lounge rooms, eating well, watching this show on a big TV.
this is so shocking/interesting/astounding
i have barely anything to say about this show, exept that it goes way beond the unasked, and back to where you came from!!
Even though they tried to make these 6 people look like dumb red neck Aussies, i really enjoyed this and hope more people can watch this and take something away from it.. A really refreshing change
