Redfern Now is a collaboration of some of Australia’s most celebrated writers, actors, directors - Wayne Blair (The Sapphires), Catriona McKenzie (Satellite Boy, My Place), Rachel Perkins (Bran Nue Dae, Mabo), Leah Purcell (Black Chicks Talking, Lantana), Deborah Mailman (Offspring, The Sapphires) - with one of the world’s greatest storytellers, Emmy and BAFTA award-winner Jimmy McGovern (The Street, Cracker, The Lakes). Powerful, funny, bittersweet stories exploring extraordinary events in ordinary lives. Six families, unconnected, except that their lives are all changed by a seemingly insignificant incident, an accident or a moment’s decision that spirals into a life-changing event. Six stories of contemporary inner city Indigenous life, told by the people who live it.

Redfern Now

A really well made first episode. Great writing and acting. To keep our attention while at the same time introducing the characters was captivating. Can't wait for the next episode.

One of the most compelling tv shows I've seen in a long time that left me gasping for more. It's heart wrenching, inspiring and cuts close to the bone on real life family dramas. I absolutely enjoyed this episode and want to tell the world! A must watch.

Just happened to be flicking thru and came across this half way thru, got me hooked straight away, great acting, very natural, looking forward to next episode.
