Angie Harmon (Law & Order) and Sasha Alexander (NCIS) return for season two of the hit series as Boston’s top crime-solving duo, Detective Jane Rizzoli and Dr. Maura Isles. Complete opposites, the two women share an offbeat chemistry and strong working relationship. As the second season opens, Jane and Frankie (Jordan Bridges) are recovering from bullets they took during a siege at the police station. As Jane struggles to overcome scars that are more emotional than physical, an old flame (Chris Vance – Dexter) returns. On the home front, Jane’s mother, Angela (Lorraine Bracco – The Sopranos), is despondent over a major upheaval in her own life, complicated by the arrival of Jane’s older brother, Tommy (Colin Egglesfield – Melrose Place). And for Maura, home life gets complicated when her adoptive mother, Constance Isles (Jacqueline Bisset – Nip/Tuck), comes to visit. Plus, Jane and Maura take on a number of intriguing cases this season — and you can watch them all right here!

Customer Reviews

Cool in a "Bones" sort of way.

This is a very cool crime drama set in Boston. It's loosely based on characters from Tess Gerritsen's Rizzoli and Isles novels. I think Tess Gerritsen's books are quite dark and maybe that wouldn't work on U.S. TV so they have made this series a little more fluffy. In some ways it reminds me a little of Bones. A hard nosed cop and a scientist join forces to solve brutal crimes.
I actually prefer this a little. I think Boston is very much a character in this series and Angie Harmon (Rizzoli) and Sasha Alexander (Isles) are very likable characters.

enjoy it immensely

This is a great show, i am a big fan of tess gerritsen's books and initially was disappointed it didn't flow as the series of books did, however realising that most TV shows vary significantly from any novel they're based on, i have thoroughly enjoyed where the characters have gone. Sasha Alexander and Angie Harmon work great together. i do love that it carried through the hoyt storyline right to the end of S2. "Remember Me" (s2 e10) i found the most chilling to date, what great writing - even for a seasoned crime-tv buff like me it caught me by surprise! i love the not-so-subtle plugs for ms. gerritsen's books. very cheeky! i truly hope this is renewed for many more seasons to come.
