Coinciding the release of their DVD/EP in mid-December 2002, Jimmy Eat World treated fans to another nugget: the rare 7" single Last Christmas. Wham!'s holiday hit "Last Christmas" resonates with the song's original pop sound, but Jimmy Eat World give it extra bounce thanks to an emo twist. Second guitarist Tom Linton steps up to the mic for a cover of the Prodigy's 1997 blistering dance cut "Firestarter." This rendition is an intense builder of quiet acoustics, and Linton's boyish vocals create a sweet ambience. Last Christmas is a sure collector's item for Jimmy Eat World fans; however, the limited-edition record of 3,000 pressings was out of print within weeks of its release.
