About Alvaro Soler

Spanish singer and songwriter Alvaro Soler first came to prominence in 2015 with his platinum single "El Mismo Sol," released in a solo edition as well as a separate version with a feature by Jennifer Lopez. Born in Barcelona, Soler initially played in a pop group called Urban Lights with his brother and a few friends. The band appeared on the game show ¡Tú Sí Que Vales!, and placed in the final eight contestants, but Soler later decided to leave.

After a move to Berlin, his 2015 single, "El Mismo Sol," became a surprise hit in Italy and Switzerland; a version featuring additional vocals in Spanish and English by Jennifer Lopez helped it chart in the U.S. and U.K. as well. In 2016, Soler released his debut album, Eterno Agosto, a number one hit in Italy and Switzerland. His follow-up single, "Sofia," topped the charts in four European countries.
