Same Old Song All Over And Over And Over Again

This compilation is a shameless repackaging attempt. OK, even if it is supposed to introduce younger audience to this great group, it is following the same awkward popsy pattern that has got a very limited efffect in the past already. Are there many converts to the blues rock detected since the repackaging era started? Not really. So why not sell - or distribute freely - those lame Greatest Hits / Very Best albums the companies can't sell to those in need - i.e., primary schools, kindergartens? Maybe that would make soome impact.

A hard-luck blues band of the '60s, Canned Heat was founded by blues historians and record collectors Alan Wilson and Bob Hite. They seemed to be on the right track and played all the right festivals (including Monterey and Woodstock, making it very prominently into the documentaries about both) but somehow never found a lasting audience.
