Rodéo, the fifth studio album by Isabelle de Truchis de Varennes (aka Zazie), was co-written by the artist along with Jean-Pierre Pilot and Philippe Paradis, and featured the singles “Toc Toc Toc,” “Excuse Moi,” “Oui,” and “Rodéo.” The record opened at the number one spot on the French charts.

Son seul album artistique !

Voilà ce que j'aime de Zazie ... un album intimiste, recherché. Avec des mots qui claquent et des musiques qui boulverse ... "Dolce vita", quelle merveille ... une voie langoureuse, chaude à la fois. "Excuse-moi" est déjà plus commercial ... Mais n'oubliez pas : 4 singles pour un albums ! C'est pas mal ! Souvent, il y a un ou deux titres phares par album. Là, cela dépasse tous les records. "Toc toc toc", du vrai alternatif ... un texte décalé, une musique "démente", une voix retravaillée par moment mais qui me fait pensé à l'album "Lys et Love" de Laurent Voulzy. La retouche vocale doit être utilisée à bon essiant et là, c'est le cas !

Laissez-vous séduire dans ses tentacules. Merci Zazie !

Born Isabelle de Truchis de Varennes in Boulogne-Billancourt on April 18, 1964, she grew up enamored of French chanson icons like Georges Brassens, Jacques Brel, and Barbara, and at ten began studying violin, soon adding piano and guitar to her curriculum. As a teen Zazie also began writing her own songs, and continued working on original material...
