Purveyors of romantic, accordion-driven norteño music, Dallas-based Regional Mexican group La Energía Norteña had their first radio hit, “Te Recordaré,” in 2011. ∙ In 2014, the group’s sophomore LP, Cruzando Territorio—featuring their signature song, “El Amor de Mi Vida”—received a Latin Grammy Award nomination for Best Norteño Album. ∙ El Rompecabezas, which included the hit “Malditos Sentimientos,” reached No. 2 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Albums chart in 2015. ∙ The video for La Energía Norteña’s upbeat love song “Mi Bonita” has been viewed more than 30 million times since its 2018 release. ∙ Their 2018 English-language LP, El Crossover, put a norteño twist on US pop hits, including OneRepublic’s “Apologize” and Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Have You Ever Seen the Rain.” ∙ In 2019, the Texas state legislature issued an official resolution congratulating La Energía Norteña on their accomplishments and their seventh anniversary. ∙ The band’s LP Poco a Poco was nominated for a 2020 Grammy Award for Best Regional Mexican Music Album.
