About Reykjavik Chamber Orchestra

Led by Rut Ingólfsdóttir, the Reykjavik Chamber Orchestra was formed in 1974 by a group of highly trained musicians who were members of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and taught at the Reykjavik College of Music. The group performs a broad repertoire of chamber music from the Baroque period to contemporary works, and it has commissioned and performed important works by Icelandic composers. The ensemble has recorded for Smekkleysa, CPO, and Music from Iceland.
