About Swan Lake
The Crosby, Stills & Nash of strange Canadian indie-pop, Swan Lake consists of Dan Bejar (Destroyer, The New Pornographers), Spencer Krug (Wolf Parade, Sunset Rubdown), and Carey Mercer (Frog Eyes). While the ensemble certainly recalls all of the aforementioned acts (except, of course, for CSN), it has its own odd, experimental vibe that largely originates from the trio’s focus on moody keyboard/organ-heavy arrangements. Swan Lake’s debut, BEAST MOANS, was unveiled in 2006, and its follow-up, ENEMY MINE, finally surfaced in ’09, undoing the seemingly one-off nature of the group.
