Though it was believed to be dead, disco's resurgence through the sound of bands like Daft Punk (whose album Random Access Memories he appeared on) shows that some things can never die. But if disco is going to come back, it might as well do it right, which is where Best of Electronic Disco comes in. This freshly remastered, 19-track best-of compilation gathers up some of the biggest hits of Italian producer and songwriter Giorgio Moroder, who made a splash throughout the '70s and '80s with songs like "Chase" and "From Here to Eternity."

One of the principal architects of the disco sound, producer and composer Giorgio Moroder was born in Ortisei, Italy, on April 26, 1940. Upon relocating to Munich, Germany, he established his own studio, Musicland, and recorded his debut single "Looky, Looky" in 1969; his first LP, Son of My Father, was released in early 1972.
