Album Review

2004's Artist Collection, a 14-track Hall & Oates compilation released in Argentina, claims to be "the perfect introduction to the music of this unique duo." It isn't. Though it does contain several of the duo's best-known singles, such as "Private Eyes," "Rich Girl," "Maneater," and "I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)," the early years are not represented. Furthermore, the compilation isn't particularly wise about the years it does cover — "Kiss on My List," "Did It in a Minute," and "One on One" are just a few of the major hits that are not included. The double-disc Essential Daryl Hall & John Oates (released in 2005), or the single-disc The Very Best of Daryl Hall & John Oates (2001), would be far more preferable.
