Album Review

This nifty power quartet is not to be confused with the rapping Sugar Ray or the R&B crooner Babyface. Instead, the band offers a handful of punchy pop tunes on this EP. Particularly pleasing are the instant hooks in "Gossamer Riddle" and the guitar kick of "Sheep Are My Keeper."

Boston pop surrealists Baby Ray were formed in 1996 by singer/guitarist Erich Groat (also a satellite member of the Willard Grant Conspiracy) and guitarist Ken Lafler, who previously teamed in the little-known Brain Helicopter.
