Album Review

You almost certainly have to admire the guts or the sheer stubbornness of a nascent producer refusing to use any career-establishing singles for a debut artist album. Especially if the results are anything like G-Pal's Life, which may miss the emotional hyper-embrace of a more determined crowd pleaser, but is lucky to emerge as an unusual and irritable and enormously perceptive anomaly within the confines of dance LPs. G-Pal's mixture of honeyed Café del Mar swells and delicately crafted techno keeps the vibe hassle free yet involved, and the final product is mostly convincing without being needlessly left field.
