Formed in London, England in 2009 while the members were attending college, Dark Sky consists of producers Carlo Anderson, Matt Benyayer, and Thomas Edwards. Through their earliest releases scattered across 2010 and 2011 -- such as "Something to Lose" and "Radius," released, respectively, on Black Acre and 50 Weapons -- they displayed a fairly broad spectrum of inspirations, including early drum'n'bass, dubstep, and U.K. garage. While the trio released additional 12" singles for the likes of Black Acre, Mister Saturday Night, and Tectonic, they also worked on their proper debut album. Three years in the making, Imagin was released on Monkeytown (like 50 Weapons, a Modeselektor venture) in 2014. Though several tracks were evidently made with dancefloors in mind, it was more downtempo in nature when compared to the 12" output, geared more toward home listening. ~ Andy Kellman
