Count Basie, Count Basie at Newport Live Joe Henderson, Inner Urge (The Rudy Van Gelder Edition) [Remastered] Wayne Shorter, Native Dancer It is difficult to pick only three but these are some of my favourite jazz recordings. Basie at Newport is one of the last hurrahs for the great Lester Young. The Shorter and Henderson recordings are two of their best. Reg Schwager & Steve Wallace)” My trio recorded this ballad in memory of our former colleague and mentor, the legendary guitarist Ed Bickert, not long after his passing in 2019. This track features Reg Schwager, who replaced Ed in the trio, with Steve Wallace on bass.
