In his childhood dreams, Roland Belmares wanted to become a singer, mostly influenced by the Latin music his mother used to listen, but he was too shy to perform in front of an audience. However, there was something else he would do to get involved in music. Roland Belmares started spinning turntables in a local club at his native Austin, TX, in 1996. Live performances in San Francisco, CA, and Miami, FL, followed soon after. The 11-track record Global Groove: Thrill marked his debut in May 2000. That same year, Dance, Vol. 1 became his breakthrough. 4 Play Records released his mix album Circuit Sessions, Vol. 8 in July 2001. ~ Drago Bonacich
