About Room 94

Based in the North London suburbs, four-piece Room 94 emulated the sound of chart-friendly pop/rockers Busted and McFly while adding influences from the likes of Lawson, All-Time Low, and Emblem3 to their youthful sound. The quartet formed in school in 2007 when brothers Kieran (vocals), Dean (drums/vocals), and Sean Lemon (guitar) were joined by long-term friend Kit Tanton on bass, and after spending time practicing in room 94 -- which later became their band name -- they began to play live shows at local venues and built up a substantial online fan base. They first effort, a self-titled EP, was recorded in 2010 and two years later, Loud Noises was recorded with One Direction collaborators and production duo Red Triangle. During this time they joined Attack! Attack! on their European tour, and also played in Poland, where they were unexpectedly greeted by a group of rabid fans at the airport before they got a police escort to take them to their hotel. 2013 proved a successful year for the band as they embarked on a U.K. headline tour, alongside support slots with Lawson and Union J, and entered the studio again with Red Triangle to record their debut full-length. Released in 2014, the album was preceded by the U.K. Top 40 single and title track "No Strings Attached." The band returned to the studio with producer Tim Morris (Enter Shikari, Max Raptor) at the end of 2015 to record their follow-up. Released early in 2016, the harder-edged-sounding Lost Youth entered the U.K. charts at number 33. ~ Scott Kerr
