The Hotknives

About The Hotknives

Hot Knives were formed in San Francisco, California, USA, in 1974 by two ex-members of the Flamin’ Groovies. Tim Lynch (guitar) and Danny Mihm (drums) were joined by Debbie Houpt (vocals), Mike Houpt (guitar, vocals) and Ed Wilson (bass) in an act that replayed San Francisco’s pop sound of the 60s. Two singles, ‘I Hear The Wind Blow’ and a version of Moby Grape’s ‘Hey Grandma’, appeared on the Hot Knives’ own label. Both proved popular in Europe, where the Flamin’ Groovies and its offshoots still enjoy a cult following, but the band was dissolved in 1977, leaving behind an unfinished album. Mihm joined Roy Loney And The Phantom Movers led by another ex-member of the Flamin’ Groovies - before forming the Kingsnakes.
