The Young Fresh Fellows’ Scott McCaughey envisioned this mid-1990s side project as a loose and ever-changing assemblage of talented friends from the Northwest underground and the jangle-pop world at large, including R.E.M.’s Pete Buck and the Posies’ Kevin Stringfellow. The group has released enjoyable and critically lauded albums on a regular schedule since ’94, and in the early ‘00s, found the perfect home for their witty, tuneful rock in Yep Roc records. The band has hosted innumerable guest stars on their recordings, and also served as Robyn Hitchcock’s backing band.
