The Spinto Band was formed by lead vocalist Nick Krill after he found song lyrics written by his late grandfather (named Roy Spinto) on the inside of a Crackerjack box. Krill then joined up with several musicians from the Wilmington, Delaware area and began recording and releasing self-produced efforts. Eventually signed to Bar-None, the band made a splash with 2005’s NICE AND NICELY DONE. The Spinto Band plays a fun, funky mix of shambling indie rock and straight ahead pop. Taking its cue from Pavement, Spinto band matches often inscrutable lyrics with an upbeat, danceable party vibe.
