6 for iOS ...and Sometimes X
This book is available for download with iBooks on your Mac or iOS device, and with iTunes on your computer. Books can be read with iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.
My first iOS device (an iPad) made me feel like an idiot. I didn't know where to start. It didn't help that my frustration transmogrified into getting pissed off. Until I realized that the early iPad commercials gave me just enough information to get started, I kept approaching the thing like it was an extension of my desktop Mac Pro. It's not. Clinging to ideas of how things work in a desktop world will only lead to tears.
This little magazine is meant to save those of us who remember cel phones the size of bricks from the pervasive *eyeroll* from kids born after the Sony Discman. It's NOT a tutorial or "best of" list, but suggestions to get your started, pointing you to apps that fulfill a need. Will every app we cover be the best? Maybe not, but most are free to start and it will help you define exactly what you need from the next app. Don't need it? Delete it.
6 for iOS and sometimes X will look at 6 apps for iPhone/iPod/iPad, maybe more but not less, maybe some for Mac apps if they fulfilled a recent need.
New issue every couple of weeks.
