From a USA TODAY bestselling author!
Can love sprout amid a tsunami of vegetables?
Single mom Evelyn Felton takes on another part-time job managing a greenhouse and garden project for Grace Fellowship. Formerly homeless, she’s thrilled to offer truckloads of fresh produce to the Arcadia Valley food bank.
If only Ben Kujak weren’t running Corinna’s Cupboard singlehandedly, he’d be delighted to be on the receiving end. But Evelyn and her dynamo daughter, Maisie, won’t take no for an answer, even if it means restructuring Ben’s charity.
Soon Ben finds himself wishing they’d transform his personal life, too, but can true love sprout when their pasts collide with the present?

Inspiring story with fascinating characters
I am always excited when a new book by Valerie Comer comes out! I have been a big fan ever since her first series, the Farm Fresh Romances! But even if I'd never heard of her before, I likely would have picked this book up because the cover is so appealing. That said, I was actually eagerly awaiting this particular book because I had already fallen in love with two of the main characters of this story in Comer's contribution to the novella collection, Romance Grows in Arcadia Valley, where we met single mother Evelyn Felton and her incorrigible daughter Maisie.
I loved how Comer further developed the characters of Evelyn and Maisie in this book! I found Evelyn's fears and struggles very real and believable. Ben's journey through grief was also well-written and quite compelling. An unexpected surprise was the development of the character Joanna, Evelyn's friend who was the main character in Comer's novella in the Romance Grows collection. I found myself liking Joanna far more in this book than I had in the preceding novella!
I really enjoyed reading about the collaboration between the community garden and the soup kitchen, and I found I learned a lot about how much each takes to run! I found the pacing of the book was good, particularly when it came to Ben and Evelyn's relationship. The only thing I didn't love about this book was that the big conflict at the end felt a little bit contrived. The way the instigator behaved wasn't particularly believable to me; it seemed over the top and I struggled to understand the motivation. But maybe I just haven't encountered this type of person yet in my life. This definitely was not a deal breaker to me; I just found myself scratching my head, wondering what would motivate a person to act like that.
I loved the theme that Christ puts our pasts behind us, makes us worthy, and wants what is best for us! It was woven subtly throughout the story, which never felt preachy, and I found myself praising God for His unfathomable love for His children! I highly recommend this book!
I received a complimentary ARC from the author as part of her launch team.
