Enhanced 30th Anniversary Edition
This book can be downloaded and read in iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.
Stretching is one of the most popular fitness books of all time. It has sold over 3½ million copies worldwide and is in 23 languages. Stretching has been updated in this revised 30th anniversary edition, with 10 new stretching routines for office workers and computer operators; tips on office ergonomics and preventing repetitive stress injuries; a description of four types of stretching, including dynamic stretching for athletes.
Stretching is a simple, gentle activity that can be done by anyone, anywhere, at any time. This 30th Anniversary Edition of Stretching contains hundreds of stretches with simple instructions for each stretch: one- or two-page graphic stretching routines, including 17 routines for everyday activities, 10 routines for computer users and office workers; and 37 routines for different sports.
There is a graphic index of all stretches, useful for doctors, medical professionals, and body workers in prescribing stretches for patients. There are sections on body tools, caring for your back, and PNF stretching. If you stretch in the right way (no bouncing, no pain), you'll feel better. It's that simple.
ENHANCED EBOOK BONUS FEATURES: This ebook version has hundreds of auto-highlighting links between the explanatory text and images; between every image in the everyday and sports routines and its discussion in the main text; and linked image indexes at the end of each section.
In the custom “Stretching Prescriptions” section, you can make special links to stretches of your choice (where, for example, you or your health care professional can design a custom stretching routine). These custom links will remain until you change them. There is also a fully linked word index, an image index, and a bibliography section. There are many links to external resources on the Web. It is truly a tour de force of ebook technology, based on the best stretching book available anywhere.
FIRST PRIZE WINNER (Enhanced eBook category) — 2012 Digital Book World Publishing Innovation Awards: “This longtime bestseller from Shelter Publications celebrates its 30th anniversary in print with this ebook edition that thoroughly realizes the platform’s potential, proving that a simple concept can be the basis of a vastly improved product through careful, intelligent use of the technology. Stretching excellently performed its task — going beyond the print edition to create an excellent ebook.” (PIA award commentary)

The original circa 1980 hard copy was excellent. 30 years later, this iBook version is a giant improvement even on the excellent original due to the updated content, the excellent links, and the annotation capability.
All the info, but interactions don't work
It's nice to be able to have the book everywhere I have my iPad. The only problem is the links and interactive portions are finicky and only function when they want to. Very disappointed.
