Opinião do álbum

Love Walked In is more of a rarities collection than most Dinah Shore compilations, preferring to stay away from the umpteenth iteration of "Blues in the Night" and "You'd Be So Nice to Come Home To" in favor of comparatively obscure novelty songs like "Pass That Peace Pipe," minor songs from major composers like Irving Berlin's "Be Careful It's My Heart" and "Remember," and Shore's versions of ubiquitous standards like "Someone to Watch Over Me" and "Blue Skies." There are no earth-shattering, previously hidden gems among the 25 tracks, but overall, Love Walked In makes the case for Dinah Shore as a big-band vocalist, an important part of her career often forgotten by younger generations who know her — if at all — as Chevrolet pitchwoman, Burt Reynolds' ex-girlfriend, and '70s chat show host. The sound quality reveals the age and rarity of the source tapes, but judicious noise reduction and careful remastering give Love Walked In better sound than many similar budget compilations. This is much better for established fans than newcomers, who would be better served with a hits compilation like 2004's A Proper Introduction to Dinah Shore: For Sentimental Reasons.

During the '40s, she recorded several of the decade's biggest singles — "Buttons and Bows," "The Gypsy," and "I'll Walk Alone" — all of which spent more than a month at number one on the Hit Parade....
