About Lefties Soul Connection

Dutch funk band Lefties Soul Connection are heavily influenced by the Meters and funk and soul groups from the '60s and early '70s, while their heavy organ sound resembles American jam band Soulive. Founded by guitarist Onno Smit and organist Alviz in August 2001, the band originally played instrumental covers by classic funk bands. The group's first single followed in 2002, and the band received critical acclaim for its 2006 interpretation of DJ Shadow's "Organ Donor." Lefties Soul Connection have also released several full-length LPs. ~ Vincent Thomas
