||Podtacular 502: RTX 2015 Recap||Our RTX experience this year was nothing short of extraordinary as we celebrated our 10 year anniversary of the show. In addition to our episode 500 panel, we hosted a reunion party for all of our fans who attended RTX. We had some awesome people come by and game away a lot of Halo swag. We did get to see the show floor and attend a few other panels while we were there, but admittedly, this year was all about our anniversary. We can’t thank everyone enough who helped get us here during our 10 year journey.||23 8 2015||Free||View In iTunes|
||Podtacular 501: Parenting in Video Games||Video games have become integral parts of household entertainment in the past couple decades and their introduction to the living room and every day lives exposes them to family. In the day and age where parents must be mindful of the content consumed by their kids, video games take a front seat role. We’ve invited a group of avid gamers who have kids to discuss what concerns there are being a parent in the video game space, what do they do when they play games with them, what they allow their kids to play, and what responsibilities parents have when making choices on games they play. We are pleased to have on our show as guests Ducain 23 from Forge Channel, Ovaryacting from the PMS Clan, BelleBunny from Dames of Destiny and Rectify Gaming, and Grimm & Axiomm84 from Dads of Destiny.||20 8 2015||Free||View In iTunes|
||Podtacular 500: 10 Year Anniversary||Back in July of 2005, our beloved founder foomojive released the first episode of Podtacular. Ten years later, we’re carrying on the tradition of talking about anything any everything in the Halo Universe. We recorded our 500th episode at RTX where we held an anniversary reunion party and panel celebrating our ten year history. Along with myself, Biowolf, and foomo, we also welcome Spelchek on this very special show as we walk down memory lane highlighting the pinnacles of the podcast and the community around Podtacular. It is everyone involved with Halo and those who support our show that has kept us going and carrying the torch.||18 8 2015||Free||View In iTunes|
||Podtacular 499: Together At Last||Gamescom has brought us a plethora of more Halo info, not just limited to Halo 5: Guardians. While we got the announcement of Colosseum and gameplay on Fathom, we also got the announcement for Halo Wars 2, the Halo World Championship as part of the Halo Championship Series, and the Halo 5: Guardians Limited Edition Xbox One and other limited edition Xbox One controllers were finally revealed. We all are together for the first time all recording in the same room as we’re here in Austin, Texas in celebration of our 10 year anniversary.||7 8 2015||Free||View In iTunes|
||Podtacular 498: Saint’s Testimony Discussion||The latest addition to the Halo fiction is brought to us by the one and only Frank O’Connor, which brings up an interesting concept about Smart AIs in the Halo universe. In Saint’s Testimony, we hear the plea of one Smart AI, Iona or obtaining human rights in spite of her seven years of service approaching rampancy. She delves into the idea of dreaming, how it repairs certain parts of her neural net similar to how humans reorganize information when they sleep and dream. This show is filled with spoilers if you haven’t read/listened to it. We were pleased to have PensHalo on the show to discuss this book.||7 8 2015||Free||View In iTunes|
||Podtacular 497: Always-On Co-op||It’s been a while since we’ve even touched our mailbag, but we had a few items waiting for us including a voicemail. In addition, we touched on the campaign article written up by Josh Holmes regarding the squad in Halo 5’s campaign and more about how co-op will work. If you have anything you want us to read or play on the show, make sure to hit that ‘Submit’ button or shoot us a voicemail at (240) 200-HALO.||2 8 2015||Free||View In iTunes|
||SDCC 2015 Special: Matt Forbeck||This year packs quite the punch with Halo stories, first of which was Halo: New Blood. At SDCC, we had the opportunity to talk to Matt Forbeck, author of the novella and ask him about his first time experience writing for the Halo franchise. He explains some of the reasons behind his writing process including how Halo 3: ODST inspired him to write the book in such a way that had us re-reading it multiple times just to make sense of what was going on. It also helps that he’s been a long time Halo fan and, like the rest of us, really loves Buck.||1 8 2015||Free||View In iTunes|
||Podtacular 496: You Shall Not Split||Between E3 and SDCC 2015, there’s been a lot of news around the upcoming Halo 5: Guardians, some of which has generated discussion amongst the Halo community. We tackle some of those issues in tonight’s episode with our thoughts on no split screen, no local/offline play, the no disc limited collector’s edition (which now has a trade in option), and the requisition system on if it’s too much like pay to win for Warzone. We would love to hear your thoughts on these issues and you can do so by posting in our forums or sending us a submission.||26 7 2015||Free||View In iTunes|
||Podtacular 495: New Blood Discussion||When we were first introduced to Gunnery Sergeant Edward Buck in Halo 3: ODST, we learned about his personality as an ODST and how good Nathan Fillion is at acting. In New Blood, we learn of Buck’s origin story: how he became an ODST, how he met up with Veronica Dare and how he eventually got recruited and joined the Spartan IV program. This all leads up to his role in the upcoming Halo 5: Guardians and there’s a lot of details in this novella. If you’ve read (or listened the) the book, you may have found yourself having to go through it multiple times. As we discuss the book, we try to demystify the bouncing around as much as possible and hit all the high points you’ll want to know before this October.||26 7 2015||Free||View In iTunes|
||SDCC 2015 Special: Stony Props||Halo brought Breakout to life in a real life scenario of the new game mode in Halo 5: Guardians. In conjunction with BoomCo and Stony Props, 343 brought the Spartan training simulation to life at SDCC. We had the opportunity to talk to some of the folks from Stony Props who made the Spartan training armor for the experience, which included a helmet and upper body armor pieces for both teams. We got to talk to Walter and Steve about the entire process of making the armor from when 343 Industries approached them to getting them made for game day.||24 7 2015||Free||View In iTunes|
