iTunes Review

If the feeling of pure love could be expressed through music, we think it would sound something like the tightly woven harmonies of The Civil Wars' Joy Williams and John Paul White on Barton Hollow. Singing together in tandem on virtually every line, the pair celebrate the traditions of American roots music as much as they do the experience of falling in and out of love, especially on the smoky, evocative "Poison & Wine" and the achingly poignant "Falling."

I Pity Those Who Have Not Heard

If you are one of those unfortunate people whose ears have never been graced with the sound of the phenomenal duo that is The Civil Wars, then I feel sorry for you.
This duo, made up of the ever talented Joy Williams and John Paul White are some of the most pure musicians out there. Their melodies ring haunting and true. Themes are twisted and intertwined with carefully thought out verse.
If it was not made clear by my obvious display of love for The Civil Wars, I think that this album is worth every penny you spend on it.

Best. Ever.

This album is worth way more then $6.99. It's probably one of the best I have ever heard. You won't be disappointed.

Falling is my favorite song off this... I heard it yesterday and I'm inlove.
