iTunes Review

Earth, Wind & Fire redefined black pop music in the '70s, fusing R&B, rock, funk, soul, jazz, and disco into a fresh, exciting sound. This no-nonsense, 17-track collection gathers the very best of the band's 1974–81 heyday. From the soaring falsetto shiver of "September" and the ultra-tight harmonies of "Shining Star" to the dance-floor flash of "Boogie Wonderland" and the heartbroken balladry of Philip Bailey's quiet-storm showcase "After the Love Has Gone,” it's all here.

Customer Reviews

Yes, I remember September!

September is just the cherry on top of this classic album. Awesome.

Ah, the memories...

This band has won 10 grammies and sold 90 Million+ records. As TheOccult? said, "They are gods." From Wiki: "Rolling Stone has described them as 'innovative, precise yet sensual, calculated yet galvanizing' and has also declared that the band 'changed the sound of black pop'." EWF will stand the test of time, unlike most bands today.

Timeless Music

Rarely can u find music in the last 2 decades that is as timeless as this group. Brings back such awesome memories!

I wish people would use these review spots to comment on the music instead of irrelevant jibberish, like Mariah Carey Freak. (but I guess the name says it all..)

Conceived by drummer, bandleader, songwriter, kalimba player, and occasional vocalist Maurice White, EWF's all-encompassing musical vision used funk as its foundation, but also incorporated jazz, smooth soul, gospel, pop, rock & roll, psychedelia, blues, folk, African music, and, later on, disco. Lead singer Philip Bailey gave EWF an extra dimension with his talent...
